Vows Made On Wedding Day

Vows Made on Wedding Day
You do not need to learn these. They are simply to let you know what to expect.

GROOM (says)
In the presence of God and before these witnesses,
I, ……………….give myself to you ………………….
to be your husband, and take you now to be my wife.
I promise to love you, to be faithful and loyal to you,
for as long as we live.

BRIDE (says)
In the presence of God and before these witnesses,
I, ………………. give myself to you ………………….
to be your wife, and take you now to be my husband.
I promise to love you, to be faithful and loyal to you,
for as long as we live.

PROMISE WITH RINGS
These promises will be made when you exchange rings. If there is only one ring, then the person giving the ring will say the appropriate phrase.

GROOM (says)
…………………., I give you this ring in God’s name, as a symbol of all that we have promised,
and all that we will share.

BRIDE (says)
…………………., I give you this ring in God’s name, as a symbol of all that we have promised,
and all that we will share.

TRADITIONAL BLESSING
If you wish the congregation to sing the blessing during the Service, I would suggest that you have it printed in the Order of Service. This saves any embarrassment for those who do not know it, giving everyone the opportunity to sing. If you are having two hymns, it should be printed between them.
The Lord bless you, and keep you:
The Lord make his face to shine upon you,
and be gracious unto you:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you,
and give you peace.
