At last some pictures from the celebratory lunch held after the service on 3rd December when the roof was rededicated are now on the site; have a look on the Roof Restoration Project page – at the bottom of the page. Sorry for the delay.
We are now in the season of Advent – the preparation for Christsmas. There are a number of special services in the church
Sunday 17th December:
As well as the regular 11.00am service we will have a:
Festive Event starting at 6.30pm with Christmas carols and a film
Wednesday 20th December:
6.30 pm Blue Christmas Service
Sunday 24th December:
11.00 am Nativity Service
11.00 pm informal carol singing
11.15 pm Watchnight Service (until quarter past midnight, Christmas Morn)
All are welcome. Whether you attend every week, once in a while or never normally cross the threshold come and join the services. In a time of many concerns casting shadows across our world, the Christmas message is one of hope and a new beginning and we want everyone to feel welome and be uplifted as we set out into next year.
The Gift Service took place on 10th December. The response from the congregation, young and not so young, was marvellous. Following the service the many gifts donated were distributed to a number of local charities and will brighten Christmas for many families. Monetary donations went to our nominated charities which this year are Seagull Trust Cruises Kirkintilloch and Guide Dogs for the Blind.
On Sunday 3rd of December we celebrated the ongoing work in and around our church. There was a celebration lunch with invited guests from the companies involved in the recently completed restoration of the church roof. Watch this space for photographs from the day.
