Thought for Prayer Sunday 14th june 2020
Lord God how many times must we tidy the cupboards, mow the lawn, hoover the carpets and sweep the floor? When all you want us to do is be at peace, be still and listen to you and stay with you for a time of reflection, a time of not doing but being. We long for a sense of purpose and direction in our lives. We often don’t make time to pray for or with others. When we do make time for you if we have enough faith and trust a problem may be made easier,a question addressed, hope and trust renewed and above all a feeling that all will be well returns.Thank you God for the open door of prayer which gives us strength and courage when the way becomes rough. Thank you for your faithfulness and belief in us over the years. Thank you for that still small voice of calm which gives us a sense of peace and love.
They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.
They shall rise up with wings as eagles.
They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. Amen.
